Jennifer Lopez and her huband of seven years, Marc Anthony, are divorcing.
The couple says in a statement that they've made the "very difficult decision" to end their marriage.
"We have come to amicable conclusion on all matters," Lopez and Anthony say in a statement given to Us Weekly. "It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."
Lopez, 40, and Anthony, 42, dated for a short time in the 1990s but became a serious couple in early 2004, after she broke up with Ben Affleck and he was divorcing former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres. They married in a small ceremony in 2004 and have 3-year-old twins together, Emme and Max. Anthony also has two sons from his marriage to Torres.
Lopez was back in the spotlight this year as a judge on "American Idol," and reports in the past week have suggested she's close to a deal to return next season. She and Anthony performed together on the "Idol" finale in May
